You have now selected a powerful tool to help you manage all aspects related to your equine friends (as well as dog cats, and other critters). The tool is powerful allowing you to get started right away, yet can be customized over time.
Here is a short check list of how I recommend you start.
- Add a Horse
- If you manage a training or boarding facility, add pricing and build board and service packages. (you may want to build the board packages before you set up horses…so you don’t have to go back and add the package type later…but never worry, you can always go back).
- If you want to limit your drop down views or add new customization, edit your categories.
- Begin adding activities. I recommend going back in time to add key activities that you want reminders for in the future.
- For example…you may want a reminder in 3 months for a flu-rhino vaccine…so add the last time you did the flu-rhino (New Activities > Health > Vaccines > Select the flu rhino type) and then set up the reminder frequency. By putting in the old activity, you are building your horse profile, and you are also now able to extract this information on a USEF from that can be used for horse shows…so no more manual upkeep of that dang form!
- Add upcoming horse shows that are on your schedule.
- And, just start playing. Identify opportunities where you write something down in your note book, wall calendar, organizer or scratch paper….and instead enter in Equine Simplified.
